Want to write for us? BrandingX accepts expert guest posts on brand strategy, digital marketing, technology and AI. Read our guidelines and learn how to submit a guest post to one of the UK’s growing branding blogs.
Thank you for your interest in writing for BrandingX.
We are a UK branding and digital marketing agency, and our blog exists to give ambitious business owners, marketers and founders advice they can actually use on Monday morning. If you have hard-won expertise and you can write clearly, we would love to hear from you.
This page explains exactly what we publish, who we are looking for, and how to submit a guest post that stands a genuine chance of being accepted. Please read it properly before pitching. The writers who get published are almost always the ones who took ten minutes to understand the brief.
Why Write for Us?
There is no shortage of places to publish online, so it is fair to ask what you get out of contributing to the BrandingX blog. Here is the honest answer.
- A genuine UK audience. Our readers are British business owners, in-house marketers, agency staff and consultants. If your work is aimed at the UK market, this is a relevant place to be seen.
- Editorial credibility. We edit properly and we do not publish filler. Being featured here signals that your thinking stood up to scrutiny.
- A permanent author byline. Every accepted contributor gets a short bio and a link, so readers can find you and your work.
- Distribution. Published pieces are shared through our newsletter and social channels rather than being left to gather dust in an archive.
- Long-form indexing. Our articles are built to rank and to stay useful for years, not to chase a passing trend.
What we do not offer is a link farm. If your only aim is a quick backlink, this is not the right blog for you and we will spot it immediately.
Who We Are Looking For
We accept contributions from people who do the work, not people who write about the work from a distance. That typically means:
- Brand strategists, designers and creative directors
- SEO specialists, PPC managers and content marketers
- Founders and marketing leads who have built something and can show their reasoning
- Agency owners with a view on how client relationships genuinely work
- Developers, data specialists and AI practitioners who can explain technical subjects to a commercial audience
- Researchers and analysts with original data on UK markets
You do not need to be a professional writer. You do need to know your subject well enough to say something that is not already on the first page of Google.
Topics We Accept
Our editorial remit follows the categories already live on the blog. A pitch that sits neatly inside one of these has a far better chance of being commissioned.
Brand Strategy
Positioning, messaging architecture, competitive differentiation, brand audits, naming, rebrands and the commercial case for strategic work. See our existing brand strategy articles for the standard we expect.
Brand Development
Visual identity systems, tone of voice, brand guidelines, packaging, brand consistency at scale and how young brands mature into established ones. Browse our brand development posts before pitching.
Brand Ambassador Programmes
Ambassador recruitment, creator partnerships, community-led growth, compensation models, contracts and measurement. Our brand ambassador category is well developed, so pitches here need a genuinely fresh angle.
Agency and Brand
Client-agency relationships, briefing, pitching, retainers versus projects, in-housing, procurement and how to get better work out of the people you hire. Read the agency and brand archive for context.
Digital Marketing
SEO, content strategy, paid media, email, analytics, conversion rate optimisation and local search for UK businesses. Practical and specific beats broad and theoretical every time. Our digital marketing category shows the depth we look for.
Write for Us: Technology
If you searched for “write for us technology” and landed here, you are in the right place, provided your angle is commercial rather than purely engineering-focused. We publish technology writing where the reader is a business decision-maker: marketing technology stacks, CRM and CDP selection, web performance and Core Web Vitals, headless CMS platforms, e-commerce infrastructure, product data management, privacy and consent tooling, and automation that reduces marketing overheads.
We do not publish device reviews, gadget round-ups, crypto promotion, or general consumer tech news. If your technology guest post cannot answer the question “what should a UK business do differently after reading this?”, it is not for us.
AI: Write for Us
Our AI category is one of our fastest growing, and it is where we receive the largest volume of weak pitches. If you want to contribute an “AI write for us” submission, we are interested in grounded, practical writing: AI in brand and content workflows, generative search and how it changes discovery, AI governance and disclosure policies, prompt and model evaluation for marketing teams, AI certifications and career paths, and honest accounts of what did not work.
We are not interested in speculative futurism, thinly rewritten model announcements, or articles that were themselves obviously generated without human oversight. We can tell, and so can our readers.
Guest Post Guidelines
These are firm requirements rather than suggestions. Submissions that ignore them are declined without further correspondence.
Length and Depth
Aim for 1,200 to 2,500 words. Longer is fine if the subject warrants it, and several of our best-performing articles run well beyond that. What we will not accept is a 600-word skim of a topic that deserves proper treatment.
Originality
Every submission must be completely original and previously unpublished. It cannot appear anywhere else afterwards, including on your own site, LinkedIn or Medium. We run plagiarism and AI-detection checks on everything before publication, and a failed check ends the relationship permanently.
Language and Tone
Write in British English. That means optimisation rather than optimization, organisation rather than organization, and £ rather than $. Use UK examples, UK regulations and UK data wherever you can. Write in second person, keep sentences short, and avoid the inflated agency vocabulary that says very little. Read a couple of our articles and you will pick up the register quickly.
Structure and Formatting
- One H1 only, which is the article title
- Clear H2 and H3 subheadings roughly every 250 to 350 words
- Short paragraphs of two to four sentences
- Bulleted or numbered lists where they genuinely aid comprehension
- A meta title under 60 characters and a meta description under 155 characters supplied with the draft
- Submitted as a Google Doc with comment access, or as clean HTML
Sources and Evidence
Claims need backing. Cite original research, official statistics, named case studies or your own first-hand data, and link to the primary source rather than to an article summarising it. Anything from the Office for National Statistics, Ofcom, the ASA, the ICO or reputable UK trade bodies is welcome.
Links
You may include one contextual do-follow link to your own site within the body copy, plus one link in your author bio. All outbound links must be relevant, safe and useful to the reader. We reserve the right to remove, amend or nofollow any link at our discretion. We do not accept links to gambling, adult, payday loan, crypto trading, essay writing or pharmaceutical sites under any circumstances, and we do not accept third-party client links placed on behalf of an agency.
Images
Original diagrams, screenshots, charts and photographs are strongly encouraged. Supply them separately at a minimum width of 1,200 pixels with alt text and confirmation that you hold the rights. Please do not embed stock imagery you have not licensed.
Author Bio
Include a bio of 40 to 60 words, a professional headshot, your job title and company, and your LinkedIn profile. We publish real people with verifiable expertise, so anonymous or pseudonymous submissions are declined.
What We Will Not Publish
- Content written primarily to place a link
- Unedited AI output or lightly reworded existing articles
- Thinly disguised sales pages for your own product
- Round-ups of “top 10 tools” where the ranking is decided by affiliate commission
- Press releases, funding announcements or company news
- Pieces already published elsewhere, including translations
- Anything defamatory, discriminatory or misleading
How to Submit a Guest Post
Follow this process to submit a guest post to BrandingX.
- Read the blog first. Check that your topic has not already been covered. Duplicating an existing article is the most common reason for rejection.
- Send a pitch, not a finished draft. Email hi@brandingx.co.uk with the subject line “Guest Post Pitch: [Your Topic]”.
- Include the essentials. Two or three proposed titles, a short paragraph on the angle, a rough outline of your H2s, the category you are targeting, and one or two links to your published work.
- Wait for approval. We respond to pitches within five to seven working days. Please do not write the full piece before you hear back.
- Write and submit the draft. Once commissioned, send the completed article, images, meta data and author bio together in a single email.
- Work through edits. We will come back with comments. Most pieces need one round; some need two.
What Happens After You Submit
Approved drafts are edited for clarity, accuracy and house style, then scheduled. We usually publish a guest post within two to four weeks of final approval, and we will send you the live URL on the day it goes out. Published articles are shared through our newsletter and social accounts.
We may update your article in future to keep it accurate. We will not change your argument or your byline, and we will not remove your author link. Occasionally we decline a commissioned draft if it does not deliver on the pitch, and if that happens we will tell you why.
Guest Post UK: Is This the Right Blog for You?
If you have been looking for a credible guest post UK opportunity in the branding and marketing space, the test is straightforward. Ask whether you would be happy for a prospective client to read your article and judge you by it. Contributors who approach it that way tend to be published repeatedly. Those chasing volume tend not to make it past the pitch.
People typically find this page through searches such as write for us, write for us technology, AI write for us, branding write for us, digital marketing write for us, submit a guest post, publish a guest post, and guest post UK. However you arrived, the guidelines above apply equally.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you charge to publish a guest post?
No. We do not accept payment to publish a guest post, and we do not pay contributors. Every piece is accepted on editorial merit alone. Sponsored content is handled separately and is always clearly labelled.
How long does it take to hear back?
Five to seven working days for pitches, and around ten working days for full drafts. If you have not heard from us after two weeks, a single polite follow-up is welcome.
Can I include a link to my client’s website?
No. Links must point to your own site or organisation. We do not accept guest posts placed on behalf of third-party clients.
Do you accept content written with AI assistance?
We accept AI as a research or editing aid, provided the thinking, structure and examples are genuinely yours. We do not accept generated drafts submitted with minimal human input, and we check.
Can I write for you more than once?
Yes. Contributors who deliver strong work are invited back, and a handful have become regular columnists. Please allow at least four weeks between submissions.
Do I need to be based in the UK?
Not necessarily, but your article does need to be relevant and useful to a UK audience, written in British English, and grounded in UK examples where examples are used.
Will you promote my article?
Yes. Published pieces are featured in our newsletter and shared on our social channels. We will send you the assets so you can share it with your own audience too.

We look forward to reading your work.
